Day Trip with Bubbles

I love day tripping on the weekend, especially when it involves outdoor living and local food and drinks. We headed to Downtown Deland last weekend, which is about a 30-45 minute drive from Orlando and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for exploring.

The first stop was at the Elusive Grape wine bar to enjoy some sparkling rosé outside and some people watching, before heading across the street to the candy shop that was calling out to me with their signs of oreo cake balls. I picked up dark chocolate, red velvet, and peanut butter oreo balls and shamelessly consumed all of them - delish! Then we headed over to the Persimmon Hollow brewery for flights of local beer. Day drinking + drinking local = yes please!

Carnaval in Miami

After seeing pictures from last year's Veuve Clicquot Carnaval in Miami, I promised myself I'd rally the girls and road trip down for the weekend this year. Well, it's crazy how quickly time flies and before I knew it the weekend was almost upon us. Oh well, there's always next year right? Maybe I should host a poolside champagne party in the coming months, who's down?

I scooped up these peep toe booties last week which are perfect for spring, and they seriously go with everything. Plus, they'd be perfect for a champagne themed garden party as stiletto heels would sink into the grass. No bueno.

And wouldn't these sunnies fit seamlessly into the Veuve orange theme? So bright, fun, and cheery. I can practically hear the bottles popping! And they're only $14!

Pop fizz clink to the weekend!

Put a Bow on It

I have a serious love for statement sleeves, and couldn't resist this top with the subtle bell sleeves and those darling bows. It's light and breezy enough for the warmer temps that spring is bringing in, and I couldn't be happier to be breaking back out my favorite studded sandals. I missed you old friend...

White Cut Outs

I had fun while Florida pretended to make winter happen, but am happy to see signs of spring. I'm breaking out fun new tops like this cold shoulder and bell sleeve combo paired with my favorite pop of color (save 10% now).

Update: I've been pretty quiet in blog land lately as I'm getting settled into my new job which I can't rave enough about. I couldn't be more thankful for this new opportunity at such an amazing and thriving company. The perks are endless, and I'm on a really great team. I hope to catch up on blog reading and commenting soon.

More Ruffles

Another week another ruffled peplum top, you can never have enough in my opinion. And since this top is only $22, and comes in 5 different colors I need to scoop up some more.

All the Ruffles

Happy Valentine's Day! We enjoyed some fresh air and lake views for an impromptu day date last Friday, and loved checking out a lakeside bar that offers airboat rides and plenty of palapas to enjoy drinks under. I was so excited to break out my new platform sneakers that are on major sale for only $35. I mean how darling are those ruffles!

Movin' On Up

Cheers to Friday! I'm so ready for happy hour and a fun filled weekend of celebrations.
I've kept it under wraps for a while, but ever since my department was eliminated at the magazines I worked at while I was pregnant with lil' miss I haven't truly landed on my feet. I was fortunate enough to accept a position that sounded really promising. It started off at ridiculously low pay, the commute was rough with a capital woof, I was under utilized, under valued, and I wasn't allowed to work from home ever... as a social media director - say whaaaat?! Needless to say, it was time to look for a place to really plant my roots,  and I'm happy to report that I formally accepted an offer with a fantastic and rapidly growing company that's much closer to home, and is a positive to all my negatives from my current situation. And I start on Monday!

There's just one thing... I haven't had a work dress code in years. We're talking flip flops, strapless sundresses, shorts, anything went. Now it's time to clean up my 9-5 look, and start looking like a working and polished professional again. I don't need stuffy suit jackets every day, but I do need to start breaking back out my pencil skirts, dress pants, and heels with some fun pops of peplum. Of course, this calls for shopping! I've been inspired by Lindsay's recent posts on affordable work wear, and am taking a page out of her always amazing book.

Just Add a Pop of Leopard

This is hands down the chilliest winter since moving to Florida 8 years ago. On one hand, I'm craving some beach and pool time while on the other hand I've been enjoying getting more use out of my sweaters like this cozy knotted piece that pairs perfectly over my new lace tank. I decided to finish off this fun weekend look with my favorite pop of leopard.
